7th Pay Commission: Central Government Employees to Get Hike in Minimum Pay, Fitment Factor.

7th Pay Commission Latest News: The hopes of over 50 lakh Central Government employees for a hike in fitment factor and minimum pay beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations are growing day-by-day. If reports are to be believed, a good news regarding an increase in the minimum pay and fitment factor beyond 7th Central Pay Commission or 7th CPC recommendations can be expected in the third week of August. Several reports have claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make an announcement on the hike of up to 3.68 per cent in fitment factor and up to Rs 8,000 in minimum pay on August 15, i.e Independence Day. With a raise of Rs 8,000, the minimum pay of the Central Government employees will reach at Rs 26,000.

Days before his address to the nation from the forecourt of Red Fort in New Delhi, PM Modi has asked for suggestion and ideas from people. “What are your thoughts and ideas for my 15th August speech? Share them with me on a specially created forum on the Narendra Modi App. You can also share them on MyGov. I look forward to receiving your fruitful inputs in the coming days,” he tweeted. Chances are that the 50 lakh Central Government employees and an equivalent number of retirees would want the PM to speak about a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond recommendations of 7th Pay Commission.

Besides this, reports have been floating in the market that in another good news for the Central Government employees and pensioners, the Centre may soon announce a hike in the dearness allowance (DA). When announced, the move will benefit around 61 lakh pensioners and approximately 48.41 lakh central government employees. This news is more than enough for strengthening the belief of the Central Government employees that they will soon get a hike in fitment factor and minimum pay beyond 7th CPC recommendations.

Apart from this, several state government have also started providing the benefits of 7th Pay Commission to their employees. Recently, the Bihar Government had announced that the state university and college staff would soon get the salaries and perks at par with the 7th Pay Commission. Prior to it, the Maharashtra Government had said that the salaries of the state employees will be increased from Diwali this year. He said that the step is being taken in terms with the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.

Amid other states which have provided the benefits of 7th Pay Commission for its employees are Uttar Pradesh,  Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh among others. All of these positive news regarding the 7th Pay Commission have given a strong base to the hopes of 50 lakh Central Government employees that they may soon get a hike in fitment factor and minimum pay beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations.

However, it may be noted here that earlier this year Minister of Finance (MoS) P Radhakrishnan had dashed the hopes of 50 lakh Central Government employees for a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond 7th Pay Commission by announcing that the Centre is not considering to make an announcement in connection with the matter.
